In September 2013, Mayor Mike Spano joined the Yonkers City Council, Yonkers’ State Delegation, charitable and non-profit organizations to cut the ribbon on the new state-of-the-art Animal Shelter at 1000 Ridge Hill Boulevard. We are working on a way to better serve the community with more responsive and better customer service. The shelter is run by a volunteer board of directors and has paid managers and volunteers. We have found ways to communicate with the staff and volunteers more.
