
HI TOR ANIMAL SHELTER VOLUNTEER PROFESSIONAL
We always look for ways to improve the lives of the animals we represent and we take into account all suggestions from volunteers, staff, and adopters. The sign on Firemens Memorial Drive directs people to the Hi Tor. In September 2013, Mayor Mike Spano joined the Yonkers City Council, Yonkers’ State Delegation, charitable and non-profit organizations to cut the ribbon on the new state-of-the-art Animal Shelter at 1000 Ridge Hill Boulevard. We are working on a way to better serve the community with more responsive and better customer service. The shelter is run by a volunteer board of directors and has paid managers and volunteers. We have found ways to communicate with the staff and volunteers more.

Former staff, volunteers and community members again protested the conditions at Rockland County’s Hi-Tor Animal Shelter and the firing of the shelter’s former manager.
